The Indian Telecommunication Bill, 2022 (Telecom Bill) was published by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) late Wednesday, September 21, 2022, for public consultation. This is the first in a series of three reforms that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has mentioned would be forthcoming, the other two being the Digital India Act as a potential replacement of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the much-awaited data protection legislation, which has returned to the drawing board for fourth time.
